OTTAWA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest has announced the addition of Van Morrison to this year's festival lineup.
Morrison is set to open the festival on the MBNA stage, scheduled for July 4th.
When asked what the motivating factor was in adding to a line-up that was already receiving rave reviews, Bluesfest executive and artistic director Mark Monahan responded: "When Van calls, you pick up the phone." It turns out ‘Mr. Monahan and Company’ have had their sights set on Van Morison for a number of years now, including ongoing negotiations for this year’s performance
"The feedback thus far has been phenomenal and adding this final piece of the puzzle clearly establishes the Ottawa Bluesfest as one of the pre-eminent music festivals in North America," added Monahan
Individual tickets for Van Morrison’s performance at Bluesfest will go on sale Saturday, May 26, 2007 @ noon at most Bluesfest ticket outlets. See www.ottawabluesfest.ca for complete details; or see below for the most current Bluesfest ticket information. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
