Here’s what we know about the inspired starlet-in-the-making.
The Origin Story
Teesha Renee was born in Rockford, Illinois, on August 13, 1993.
At an early age, she and her parents packed up and headed for the bright lights of Atlanta, Georgia.
The family settled there, with Teesha Renee growing up close to her grandmother, Mawa Louise Byrd.
Teesha Renee was bitten by the acting bug early. By age 8 she was performing in school plays and putting on shows for family and friends.
She won her school’s Miss Drama Club award after taking on the role of Mrs. Stevenson in the school’s annual play.
She joined the video production club as well as the drama club, and learned about directing, producing, editing, and acting in her very own short film.
The film—titled Red Silence—scored young Teesha Renee her first Best Actress and Best Movie awards.
Her parents—especially her mom, Tina Gordon—were happy to support her passion for performance.
They, and her grandmother, encouraged the outgoing mini-star to audition for stage and TV roles.
There were conditions, though: Teesha Renee had to finish school and go to university, first.

She enrolled at Georgia State University straight after high school, electing to study for a bachelor’s degree in arts and excited to take some acting classes on the side.
The driven young adult graduated with a bachelor of performing arts in May of 2017.
While she was studying at Atlanta’s biggest college and steadily honing her acting skills, Renee started getting involved in drama competitions and attending casting calls and auditions across Atlanta.
Teesha also enrolled at the local Alliance Theatre to learn more about the ins and outs of the stage world.
She credits this time and the Alliance Theatre with teaching her about scene study, acting processes, and script analysis.
Always a fan of being in the limelight, Teesha Renee also started competing in beauty pageants to get some exposure and earn some extra cash.
She was crowned Miss Georgia State University in 2015, and secured her place in the Miss Georgia pageant later that year.
While Teesha clearly enjoyed the experience, she didn’t place in the state-wide pageant.
Out Into The (Real) World
With her degree in hand, Renee was armed with enough acting knowledge and experience to try her hand at some real auditions.
Her goal was to become a full-time, professional actor.
She sought out the guidance of Nick Conti at the Professional Actor’s Studio in Georgia.
The studio, backed by the likes of industry giants Warner Bros., BMG Talent, Elite Models, and Houghton Talent, taught Teesha the finer points of the audition process—how to cold read, how to improvise, and, in essence, how to nail an audition.
The training worked, and Teesha was soon involved in her first official, paid projects.
She had bit roles in Cooking Up A Storm, LUST, Homicide Hunters, and Fatal Attraction, before finally scoring her big break in 2019, through one of the biggest names in show business.
