Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Popular convenience store chain Rutter's has reportedly closed a deal to purchase over 8 acres of land along Scalp Avenue in Richland Township.
Officials say the new store will be located at 1609 Scalp Ave., the site of the former Dewar's Auto shop.
According to a press release, the land deal was brokered by Bob Varner of Pennswood Commercial Reality.
Officials add that the new store will be approximately 12,000 square feet and will include numerous gas and diesel pumps, as well as several large truck bays.
The release also states that a new traffic light and access road will also be installed in the area.
According to the broker, additional acreage around the site will also be used in future development.
Officials say Rutter's is currently working on bidding the construction of the new store to a contractor and that once the work begins, it will take approximately nine months for the store to be built.
