Johnstown police have filed charges against the individual suspected of shooting and killing another man in the Moxham-section of the city last month.

Authorities have identified the shooter as 18-year-old Michael Cogdell, of Pittsburgh.

On January 23rd, police were called to the 600 block of Park Ave. for a report of a gunshot victim.

The victim, who was later identified as 41-year-old Marvin Price, was reportedly shot multiple times by another man near the former St. Patrick's School.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees later ruled Price's death as a homicide.

Upon further investigation, police say the suspected shooter was reportedly spotted on multiple surveillance cameras in the area but authorities were unable to identify him.

Police say that during the course of the investigation, detectives also learned that 26-year-old Lexus Simms, who identified herself as Price's wife, had reportedly taken a phone out of his vehicle directly after the shooting occurred.

Police say that phone reportedly belonged to the suspected shooter.

Detectives say they were notified by the victim's family that Simms had allegedly taken the phone from the crime scene.

Investigators say police viewed photo's of the phone's lock-screen, which reportedly matched the suspect who was captured on video surveillance.

Authorities say that they were able to identify Cogdell as the shooter through a digital analysis and interviews with multiple witnesses who claimed that he had been staying in the Johnstown area in the days prior to the shooting.

Johnstown Police Chief Richard Pritchard confirmed that Simms was located and taken into custody in Washington D.C.

Police are still searching for Cogdell and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Online court records show that Cogdell faces charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault while Simms faces charges of hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence.

The complaint does not mention a reasoning as to why Simms reportedly took Cogdell's phone.
