STATE COLLEGE – Penn State’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity has been placed on interim suspension after violations were reported.

Penn State’s spokeswoman, Lisa Powers, said the fraternity has been placed on interim suspension while the university investigates allegations through Penn State’s conduct process.

Powers said Penn State investigates any report of misconduct that it receives.

Chief Communications Officer of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Brandon Weghorst, said the national organization has not sanctioned any chapter members at this time.

"Local alumni advisers and the alumni who own the chapter property have made a decision that will enhance regulations and ultimately assist in the larger movement to improve the Greek-letter system," said Weghorst.
