LORRAINE's fashion expert Mark Heyes was left red-faced today as he split his trousers live on air.

The TV presenter suffered an epic fashion fail as he started his style segment and had to cover his crotch for the rest of the show.

Mark kicked off the show by getting a piggyback from one of the guests, SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ant Middleton.

He went on to introduce a segment dedicated to a jumper worn by Prince Harry's bride-to-be Meghan Markle, and revealed he had an accident.

Mark told Lorraine Kelly his trousers had ripped while presenting the link.

He said: "The was a huge [ripping] sound and my trousers split!

"I'll have to cover up with these [cue cards]."

He confessed his shame to Lorraine, who averted her eyes, and attempted to carry on with his duties.

At the end of the segment, Lorraine told him to go away and get his trousers "stitched up".

Mark then joked: "I'm too far gone. I'm going to have to walk around like this for the rest of the day."

Viewers took to Twitter to laugh about the moment.

Mark later appeared on the show to talk about super-skinny models, and he sat on the sofa holding a pink cushion over his crotch.

Lorraine told viewers the cushion was strategically placed to hide the hole in his trousers.

Mark added: "They've not just ripped - I can't remove this cushion - it's quite horrific."
