EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (CelebrityAccess) — After a 34-year run, New Jersey's Izod Center has hosted its final show.
The arena shuttered for good on March 22nd after the conclusion of a series of performances by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus
First opened in 1981, the Izod, then named the Brendan Byrne Arena, served as the home for the New Jersey Nets. However, the 2009 move of the Nets to the Prudential Center effectively spelled the end for the venue.
New Jersey's Sports and Exposition Authority decided to close the arena, which was facing projected losses of $8 million for 2015, earlier this year. – Staff Writers
