Comedian Freddy Soto Dies At 34

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Latino comedian Freddy Soto passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the age of 34. The night before he had walked off the stage at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood to a standing ovation.

Soto had become one of the most admired up-and-coming Latino comedians, working in television, film and on stage all over the country. He recently completed the “Three Amigos” tour with fellow comics Carlos Mencia and Pablo Francisco, as well as a nationwide touring opening for Marc Anthony. He also recently hit the silver screen with Adam Sandler in Sony Pictures’ “Spanglish.”

Freddy is survived by his wife, Cory, and his daughter, Cruz. In lieu of flowers, friends have set up a special fund to help the family.
