MIAMI (CelebrityAccess) — The University of Miami announced that they have secured a new naming rights partner for its on-campus multi-purpose entertainment facility, which will henceforth be known as the Watsco Center.

Located on the university's Coral Gables campus, and formerly known as the BankUnited Center, the venue includes an 8,000 seat arena that host to numerous nationally televised University of Miami men’s and women’s college basketball games, concerts, community events, and several presidential debates, forums and rallies.

The Miami-based Watsco is the largest distributor of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration products with annual sales of more than $4 billion, 5,000 employees and 563 locations throughout North America. Watsco has provided funding to the University since the 1990s through its "Watsco’s Kids" program, providing children in the community free access to performance arts, sports, and other events at the University.

“Today’s announcement is an exciting new chapter for the University of Miami,” said Director of Athletics Blake James. “Watsco has supported us in many ways through the years and we are thrilled to solidify their commitment over the long-term given their care and passion for the University of Miami.”
