She was born in Houston, Texas. Her father is Donald Eugene Hogan and her mother Virgie Mae Arthur. She attended Durkee Elementary School and later went to Aldine High School in Houston. Anna was not made for the classroom, she failed her first year and her second year she had dropped out at the age of 14. She took a job as a waitress at a fried chicken restaurant where she met and married Billy Wayne Smith who was a cook at the restaurant. She was just 18 when she married Billy and gave birth to their son Daniel Smith just a year after their wedding on January 22, 1986, North Dakota .
It was her second marriage that gainedadvertisement. At 26, she married an 89-year-old billionaire, J. Howard Marshall, whom she had met while stripping. The mogul died after just 13 months of marriage and, interestingly, he did not name Smith in his will. Anna sued half of her late husband’s $1.6 billion estate, a legal battle that lasted another 11 years.
The big break for Anna Nicole Smith came when she was the cover of Playboy in 1993 and was also named Playmate of the Year in 1993 by Hugh Heffner.
