ROSE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say a Punxsutawney man is dead after a one-vehicle crash in Jefferson County Tuesday morning.
According to state police, the crash happened along State Route 36 just after 11 a.m. when 77-year-old Robert Steel's vehicle failed to negotiate a downhill turn in Rose Township.
Troopers say Steel was ejected from his vehicle when it overturned and was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Brenda Shumaker.
Authorities say no one else was in the vehicle when it crashed.
State police were assisted by Pinecreek Fire Department Station 10 and Jefferson County EMS.
